NEW YORK RECRUITMENT TRIP
Every fall, BIG takes its sophomores to New York City to meet the firms they hope to work for. Top investment banks and investment firms recruit mostly from a small group of "target schools." The trip gives our members the chance to meet those firms in person, connect with BIG and SMU alumni, and see which careers fit them before junior-year internship recruiting begins.
What members do: Office tours, information sessions and coffee chats with analysts at New York firms, plus an alumni happy hour and dinner.

Results
Connections made on BIG's first trip in 2022 helped members land 2024 summer internships in New York at firms including PJT Partners, Moelis and William Blair. Many of the firms we visited in 2025 had never hosted SMU students before.
Thank you to the Benavides family
The NYC Recruitment Trip would not be possible without the generosity of the Benavides family. Their continued support helps our sophomores meet the firms and alumni that shape their careers, and we are deeply grateful.
